India and Canada are looking to maintain the positive momentum in their relationship, with a recent meeting between India's High Commissioner to Ottawa and Canada's Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs.
The meeting, which took place in Ottawa on Friday, aimed to review the full spectrum of India-Canada relations and discuss progress on key initiatives, including strengthening economic cooperation and deepening people-to-people ties.
The two sides agreed to continue close engagement and maintain the positive momentum, with several outcomes from a recent visit by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to India still in progress.
Negotiations towards a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) between the two countries are underway, with a trade boost expected from a visit by India's Commerce and Industry Minister next month.
The reset in relations between Canada and India came after a period of tension in 2023, but a series of meetings between the two leaders has helped to strengthen ties.
