Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Nepal on the successful conduct of elections, calling it a proud moment in the country's democratic journey.

India has assured Nepal of its commitment to working closely with the new government to achieve shared peace, progress, and prosperity.

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), led by rapper-turned-politician Balendra Shah, is heading towards a landslide victory in Nepal's general elections, winning 39 seats and leading in 80 others.

The RSP's clean sweep in Kathmandu district and its dominance in the province has shattered the dominance of established political parties.
