The Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) held talks on border deaths and illegal crossings, among other issues, along the India-Bangladesh border.

During the director general level talks, the two forces discussed measures to prevent trans-border crimes, including smuggling and human trafficking.

Both sides affirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and stability along the border, but tensions remained as personnel on the ground were locked in a standoff over the return of Bangladeshi infiltrators.

The BGB expressed concern over border deaths and urged the BSF to take effective measures to bring border killings down to zero.

India raised concerns over illegal migration of Bangladeshi nationals and Rohingya illegal migrants into India, and both sides agreed to take preventive measures against illegal trans-border movement.
