India has seen a 36% increase in domestic LPG production since March 5 to meet the needs of over 330 million consumers, according to an official. The government continues to monitor LPG supplies amid the prevailing geopolitical situation.

The government's priority is to ensure uninterrupted domestic LPG supplies, particularly for households and priority sectors such as hospitals and educational institutions.

No dry-outs have been reported at LPG distributorships, and online LPG cylinder bookings have increased from 84% to 90% across the industry.

Delivery authentication code (DAC) coverage has been expanded from 53% to 72% to prevent cylinder diversion at the distributor level.

The government has directed all domestic consumers of cooking gas to get electronic know your customer (e-KYC) done through biometric Aadhaar authentication.

This measure aims to check diversion of gas cylinders to non-priority sectors.

Annual biometric Aadhaar authentication is mandatory for over 105 million Ujjwala beneficiaries to avail of the government's subsidy on cooking gas.
