India's Ministry of External Affairs has expressed grave concern over the rising violence against minorities in Bangladesh, particularly the recent killing of a 27-year-old Hindu youth, Dipu Chandra Das. Das was brutally lynched by a mob in Mymensingh, with videos of the horrific incident circulating on social media. According to reports, a workplace dispute may have triggered the incident. Das had attempted to take an examination for promotion at his job, but was instead fired on December 18, with allegations of insulting religion levelled against him. His family claims he was falsely accused and that his murder was a premeditated act. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal condemned the killing and urged the perpetrators to be brought to justice. India's ties with Bangladesh remain strong, with the Indian government emphasizing the importance of strengthening relations with the people of Bangladesh.
