State governments launched crackdowns on LPG hoarding and black-marketing as fears of supply shortages triggered long queues and clashes in several parts of the country. Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Adityanath directed officials to conduct raids against hoarding or black-marketing of fuel and cooking gas.

The West Bengal government permitted schools to use wood-fired stoves for mid-day meals, while the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation allowed the use of charcoal chullahs in the city.
