India has condemned the recent military escalation in West Asia following a fresh exchange of strikes between Israel and Iran.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stressed the need for an immediate reduction in tensions across the region, urging parties to prioritise civilian safety and work towards a peaceful resolution.
India also highlighted the humanitarian and economic consequences of the prolonged conflict, which has already caused immense human suffering and had a debilitating impact on the global economy and energy supplies.
The Indian embassy in Iran advised people to avoid travelling to Iran amid renewed strikes in the region and asked Indian nationals to leave the country by any available means of transport.
The conflict has been ongoing for over 100 days, with Israel continuing to attack Lebanon and Tehran maintaining that a ceasefire there is key for a peace deal with the United States.
