The Ministry of External Affairs has dismissed reports that Elon Musk joined a phone call between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump.

According to the New York Times, Musk's involvement in the call marked an unusual instance of a private citizen participating in a conversation between two heads of state amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

However, a spokesperson for the MEA clarified that the telephone conversation on March 24 was between Modi and Trump only, providing an opportunity for exchange of views on the situation in West Asia.

Modi and Trump discussed the importance of the opening of the key waterway Strait of Hormuz, with Modi stating that India supports de-escalation and restoration of peace at the earliest.

The US embassy in India also shared a praise message by Donald Trump, stating that Modi and he are two people that get things done, and that their relationship with India will be even stronger going forward.
