India has assured the welfare of its citizens in the Middle East, particularly seafarers and students, as the region grapples with ongoing conflict.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has stated that the safety, security, and welfare of Indian nationals remain the top priority, with missions working around the clock to provide assistance.

Indian missions are in continuous contact with seafarers on vessels across the region, extending consular assistance, facilitating communication with families, and facilitating requests to return to India.

The government is also making efforts to ensure that students' academic year is not impacted, with missions coordinating with local authorities, Indian schools, and concerned boards to address academic concerns.

A dedicated special control room remains operational to assist Indian nationals and their families, with Indian missions and posts working round the clock to provide assistance.

According to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, all Indian seafarers and ships operating in the Persian Gulf region are safe, with no reports of incidents in the past 24 hours.

Eight sailors have returned safely to India in the last 24 hours, and 18 Indian ships with 485 seafarers are all safe, with ports operating smoothly without congestion.
