India and the US are set to resume negotiations on the proposed Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) in Washington DC, marking a key step in advancing trade ties between the two countries.

The negotiations will build upon the framework for an Interim Agreement announced on February 7 this year, which reaffirms the countries' commitment to reciprocal and mutually beneficial trade.

India and the US had launched the broader US-India Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) negotiations on February 13, 2025, with a focus on additional market access commitments and more resilient supply chains.
