India's external affairs minister S Jaishankar and Israeli foreign minister Gideon Sa'ar discussed the West Asia crisis over a phone call, focusing on Iran's nuclear programme, transit through the Strait of Hormuz, and the situation in Lebanon.

Jaishankar and Sa'ar also discussed the American stance on Iran's nuclear programme, with Sa'ar asserting that it is critical for the entire international community.

The Israeli foreign minister alleged Iran's 'economic terrorism' in the Strait of Hormuz, saying it would harm 'freedom of navigation and the global economy.'

India has expressed concern over the increasing civilian casualties in Lebanon amid strikes by Israel, with around 1000 Indian nationals living in the country.
