The Indian Embassy in Iran has issued a 48-hour advisory warning its nationals to stay indoors and avoid military installations or multi-storey buildings amid escalating US-Israel attacks.
The advisory comes as the US and Israeli attacks on Iran targeted road, railway bridges, residential buildings, and the key oil hub Kharg Island.
Indian nationals are advised to stay put for the next 48 hours, avoiding electric, military installations, and upper floors of multi-storey buildings, while maintaining regular contact with on-site embassy teams.
The Indian government has also advised nationals to avoid any movement within the country or border crossings, except in close coordination with the Indian Embassy in Tehran.
So far, 1,862 Indian nationals have been evacuated from Iran to Armenia and Azerbaijan for onward travel to India, including 935 Indian students and 472 Indian fishermen.
