New Delhi, Former IAF chief Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari has emphasized the need for India to build a strong air defence system with more weapon systems, radars, and operational capabilities.
Chaudhari made this statement while referring to the use of drones in the conflicts in Ukraine and West Asia, saying they will play a huge role in any future conflict.
However, he cautioned that relying solely on drones to win a war is not advisable and that a strong air defence network is essential for the nation.
Chaudhari stressed the importance of integrating all systems, including cyber capabilities, to create a robust network that can bring the national power to bear on the adversary.
The Indian military has drawn several lessons from the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and the combat use of drones has become a case study for researchers and think-tanks.
