India was mere minutes away from striking Pakistan from the sea during Operation Sindoor, the country's Navy Chief has revealed. Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi made the statement at the Naval Investiture Ceremony, praising the operation's reflection of the Indian Navy's resolve.
Operation Sindoor was launched in May 2025, following a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 26 civilians. The operation aimed to dismantle terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of over 100 terrorists.
A cessation of hostilities was announced on May 10, but Admiral Tripathi revealed that the Navy's aggressive posture forced the Pakistan Navy to remain close to their ports or near the Makran coast.
The Navy Chief also stated that the operation continues, with the Indian Navy showcasing its capabilities to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a historic overnight embarkation on the Western Seaboard.
