India on High Alert: Second Ebola Suspect Hospitalized in Hyderabad

A Sudanese national, a student in his 20s, was admitted to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad after being referred from a private health facility with a fever.

His condition has improved, and he no longer has a fever, but his attendant has been advised to stay in isolation at home.

This is the second suspected Ebola case in India, following another Sudanese national who was admitted to the hospital on Thursday after arriving at the airport with a fever.

The Telangana government has set up a special isolation ward at Gandhi Hospital with 10 beds for Ebola cases.

The WHO has warned that Ebola is a severe and often fatal disease that spreads through direct contact with infected individuals or contaminated surfaces.
