Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday stated that India has more than 53 lakh metric tonnes of strategic petroleum reserves and is working on arrangements for additional storage. The government is taking steps to minimize the impact of the war on India, with a focus on ensuring the safe passage of ships carrying oil, gas, and other essential goods.

The PM assured the nation that the government is working on short, medium, and long-term strategies to mitigate the effects of the war. He also informed the House about the setting up of an inter-ministerial group, daily meetings, and round-the-clock measures to address the situation.

Modi mentioned that India's efforts for energy security have become more relevant in the past ten years, with initiatives such as 20% ethanol blending resulting in a reduction of 4.5 crore barrels of oil imports annually.

The PM reiterated that the government is working tirelessly to ensure the well-being of Indians living in the affected regions, with 24X7 control rooms and emergency help lines set up to provide assistance.
