All central government officials in India set aside an hour on Monday, March 2 to recite and discuss the three-page 'Seva Sankalp' resolution, a mission statement reflecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for nation building and serving 1.4 billion citizens.
The resolution, adopted by the Union cabinet during the first meeting in the new Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Seva Teerth, aims to 'enhance India's pride as the Mother of Democracy.'
Departments have been asked to submit reports on Monday's activity and discussions by Tuesday.
Some officials questioned the use of time for the mandatory discussion, citing busy schedules due to the ongoing war in West Asia.
