India's Char Dham Yatra Kicks Off Amid Festive Atmosphere

The Char Dham Yatra has officially commenced in the Garhwal Himalayas with the opening of the portals of Yamunotri, Gangotri, and Kedarnath Dham.

The shrines were decked up with flowers and saw a sea of pilgrims on the first day, with the portal of Gangotri Dham opening at 12:15 pm and Yamunotri Dham at 12:35 pm.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was present at the opening ceremony, emphasizing the importance of a safe and well-organized yatra.

The administration has deployed robust measures for health services, crowd management, and infrastructure to ensure a divine and safe experience for pilgrims.
