Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially launch the 210-kilometre Delhi–Dehradun Expressway on April 14 in Dehradun, marking a significant milestone in India's transportation infrastructure. The expressway, built at a cost of ₹11,868.6 crore, will reduce travel time from six hours to just two and a half hours.
The project, which spans across Baghpat, Baraut, Shamli, and Saharanpur, features over 100 underpasses, five railway over bridges, and will connect with the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, and routes to Haridwar and Roorkee.
A key feature of the project is its 12-kilometre elevated wildlife corridor through Rajaji National Park, complete with six animal underpasses to facilitate safe wildlife movement.
The expressway is divided into four phases, with the first 32-kilometre stretch from Delhi to Khekra in Baghpat already open to the public since December 2025.
