Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has weighed in on the ongoing war between US-Israel and Iran, suggesting that India's 'law of humanity' could be the key to ending global conflicts.
Speaking at a gathering in Nagpur, Bhagwat said that India's nature makes it uniquely positioned to restore balance in the world by giving it the foundation of 'dharma'. He emphasized that the country's people follow the law of humanity, unlike the rest of the world which follows the law of the jungle.
Bhagwat's comments come on the heels of Finland President Alexander Stubb's suggestion that India could play a role in ending the war in the Middle East. Stubb had proposed a ceasefire, and suggested that India could get involved to calm down the temperature and freeze the situation.
Earlier, the UAE's first ambassador to India, Hussain Hassan Mirza, had also suggested that Prime Minister Narendra Modi could resolve the conflict with a single call.
Bhagwat also pointed out that selfish interests and the desire for dominance were the root cause of conflicts in the world, and said lasting peace can only be achieved through unity, discipline and adherence to dharma.
He added that India's ancient wisdom teaches that 'all are connected and one', and called for a shift from conflict to harmony and cooperation.
