Navy chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi has cautioned that countries must be prepared for their own national security by building their own defence industrial complexes.
Speaking at the 2026 Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi, Admiral Tripathi said the notion of 'short and decisive wars' is under question due to global conflicts.
He emphasized the need for rapid adaptation and surge capacity to deal with challenges, citing the importance of managing inventory and achieving self-reliance.
Admiral Tripathi also highlighted the need to stay abreast of fast-evolving technology in the defence sector, with countries like India focusing on co-development and co-production with partner nations.
