General NS Raja Subramani, a renowned expert on Pakistan and China, has taken over as India's new Chief of Defence Staff. His primary focus will be on implementing the military theaterisation plan and enhancing tri-services synergy.
Gen Subramani has a rich military background, having served in various key roles, including command of the II Corps and 17 Mountain Division. He holds advanced degrees in Defence Studies from Madras University and King's College, London.
He has served across a wide range of conflict zones and terrains and has held several Command, Staff and Instructional appointments. Gen Subramani is known for his understanding of operational dynamics on both the Eastern and Northern borders and is widely regarded as an expert on Pakistan and China.
