The first meeting of the Education to Employment and Enterprise Standing Committee, formed under the Union Budget 2026-27, discussed measures to align India's education and skilling ecosystem with labour market needs.
The committee, convened by NITI Aayog, deliberated on labour force participation, youth employment, skill gaps, workforce preparedness and the transition of labour towards non-farm sectors.
The panel also discussed adopting emerging technologies and strengthening industry-relevant skilling pathways, with a focus on developing future-ready policy responses for bridging the gap between education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
