India has stepped in to help Sri Lanka amid the West Asia conflict, sending 38,000 metric tonnes of fuel to the island nation. Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake thanked New Delhi for its 'swift support' in a post on X.
The fuel shipment, which includes 20,000 MT of diesel and 18,000 MT of petrol, was part of a request from Sri Lanka IOC due to disruptions in supplies from West Asia and Singapore.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with the Sri Lankan President earlier this week, reaffirming their commitment to work together in addressing shared challenges.
