A tri-service contingent of the Indian armed forces is participating in a joint military exercise with Seychelles from March 9-20, aiming to enhance synergy and interoperability.
Exercise Lamitiye will be conducted at the Seychelles Defence Academy, marking a significant milestone with the participation of all three services of the Indian armed forces.
The Indian contingent comprises personnel from the Assam Regiment, the Indian Navy, and the Indian Air Force, including INS Trikand and a C-130 aircraft.
The exercise aims to enhance synergy in sub-conventional operations in semi-urban environments, cooperation, and interoperability during peacekeeping operations.
Both sides will jointly train, plan, and execute tactical drills for neutralising threats in semi-urban environments, while showcasing new generation equipment and technology.
The 12-day exercise includes field training exercises, combat discussions, case studies, lectures, and demonstrations, culminating in a validation exercise.
