New Delhi: India has rejected 'unwarranted references' to Jammu and Kashmir in a joint statement by China and Pakistan, calling the union territory an 'integral and inalienable part' of the country.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India's position on the matter is 'consistent and well known' to the concerned parties, and that no other country has the right to comment on the issue.

India has also opposed China and Pakistan's plans for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, which include areas in India's sovereign territory.

The Indian side has conveyed its opposition to Pakistani and Chinese authorities several times, saying that any moves to reinforce or legitimise Pakistan's occupation of these territories would be a threat to India's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

India has also questioned the references to 'trans-boundary water resources cooperation' between China and Pakistan, saying that the two countries do not share a boundary and therefore cannot cooperate on water resources.
