The Indian government has responded strongly to US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard's remarks on Pakistan's nuclear weapons programme.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted Islamabad's history of 'nuclear proliferation' and stated that Pakistan poses a threat to the world due to its clandestine nuclear operations.

Gabbard had said that Pakistan's missile developments, including Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs), pose a threat to the US.

India also condemned Pakistan's strikes on Afghanistan, which allegedly hit an addiction treatment hospital and led to the deaths of over 400 people.

MEA spokesperson Jaiswal reiterated India's stance on the issue, stating that Pakistan's actions are 'barbaric' and 'not helpful' for the region.
