The Indian government has shared details about Operation Deep Manifest, a mission aimed at identifying and seizing Pakistani goods entering the country. Union Minister Pankaj Chaudhary revealed that the operation is ongoing, focusing on preventing the import of goods originating in or exported from Pakistan to India.
As of January, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence booked 12 cases of Pakistani-origin goods worth Rs. 1784 lakhs imported from the UAE.
Additionally, the government has announced relief measures for tourism stakeholders in Kargil and Leh following the Pahalgam attack. Statistics show a significant decline in domestic and foreign tourists in the region.
Ladakh's finance department has enabled banks to provide benefits under the Reserve Bank of India's Relief Measures, allowing borrowers to extend repayment periods and convert interest into Funded Interest Term Loans.
The government has also launched schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan to improve the socioeconomic condition of tribal communities and develop 1000 homestays in the region.
