The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has requested the Indian government's approval to install facial recognition cameras at four major airports, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kolkata.

The proposed system will help identify fugitives and suspects by matching their faces with the government's database.

According to sources, the cameras will be installed at entry and exit points within the airports and will connect to the CISF's Integrated Command and Control Centre, as well as national security agencies such as NATGRID.

The system is expected to enhance security at the airports and help monitor suspects who use them for transit.

The CISF has also proposed installing the system at Hyderabad and Bengaluru due to their high volume of passenger traffic.
