A female assistant loco pilot from the Salem Division of Southern Railway has spoken out against a chief loco inspector accused of sexually assaulting her.
The incident allegedly occurred during an examination for an orientation course last September, with the woman claiming the inspector touched her inappropriately.
Despite the Internal Complaints Committee recommending a transfer and warning for the accused officer, the woman appealed for stricter action, stating the incident was a direct assault on her personal dignity.
The committee's report corroborated the woman's claims, with the accused officer accepting all charges.
The woman has expressed shock at the committee's handling of the issue and has requested the necessary directions to be issued to maintain confidentiality in such matters.
