A survivor of the Indore fire tragedy has accused the local fire brigade of arriving 'far too late' to the scene, which he claims led to the deaths of eight members of his family.

Thirty-two-year-old Saurabh Pugalia, who managed to escape the blaze, met with the Madhya Pradesh chief minister on Thursday and demanded strict action against the fire brigade.

Pugalia alleged that the fire tender arrived nearly an hour late and even then, the water tank was not full, which could have saved lives.

He also disputed reports of a digital lock on the main door, saying instead, a normal lock on the rooftop left some family members stranded.

However, Indore mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav disputed the delay claim, saying the fire tender's response time was 17 minutes and the team faced obstacles due to the severity of the blaze.

The fire broke out at 60-year-old businessman Manoj Pugalia's house in Brajeshwari Annexe Colony, killing eight members of the family, including Pugalia's son, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, and grandchildren.
