India's external affairs minister S Jaishankar met with UAE leadership to discuss economic and energy ties, and the welfare of the four-million-strong Indian community.

Jaishankar's visit comes amid a two-week ceasefire in the Iran-US conflict, aimed at shoring up energy security and assessing the security situation in the region.

He met with President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's message, expressing India's appreciation for looking after the Indian community in the UAE.

The talks also focused on economic and energy ties, with the UAE being India's fifth-largest source for fuel and Qatar being India's largest supplier of LNG and LPG.

The discussions also covered the repercussions of Iranian missile attacks and the strategic relations between the UAE and India.
