Karnataka home minister G Parameshwara has cautioned against potential irregularities in the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, similar to those alleged in West Bengal.

Parameshwara stated that the Congress government and party organisation in the state are closely monitoring the SIR process and have instructed party workers to track additions and deletions in voter lists at the booth level.

The home minister expressed concerns over the impact of the SIR process on election outcomes, citing allegations of manipulation in West Bengal where the BJP won nearly 100 seats by narrow margins.

Parameshwara assured that the Congress party has directed its grassroots workers and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to remain engaged throughout the process and coordinate with election officials.

He also spoke about preparations for an event planned in Tumakuru to mark the completion of three years of the Congress government in Karnataka, which will focus on initiatives undertaken by the revenue department.

The home minister defended the government's record in implementing electoral promises, stating that more than 50% of the assurances promised in the manifesto have already been fulfilled.
