Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government of attempting to insult martyrs over the 'Phansi Ghar' controversy.

Kejriwal appeared before the Delhi assembly's privileges committee on Friday and said the BJP is trying to prove that the historic execution chamber was a 'tiffin room'.

He claimed that the committee has no evidence to support this claim and that the BJP is deliberately trying to insult freedom fighters.

Kejriwal also alleged that security was breached during his visit as the Delhi Police did not allow his personal security officer to enter the assembly premises.

The AAP has accused the BJP of trying to do politics rather than work for the improvement of Delhi.

The privileges committee will now deliberate on the next course of action based on Friday's recorded versions.
