Kerala's Chief Electoral Officer has clarified that the presence of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seal on an Election Commission document was a 'purely clerical error'. The error occurred when the BJP's state unit submitted a photocopy of the original directive from 2019, which included the party's seal.
Due to an oversight, the office failed to notice the party symbol and inadvertently redistributed the document to other political parties. The CEO's office acknowledged the lapse and issued a formal letter withdrawing the erroneous document.
The Election Commission maintains a rigorous system to ensure the electoral process remains free from external interference or influence.
