Kerala Revenue Minister K Rajan has dismissed media reports of cracks in houses built for landslide victims in Wayanad as misleading.
Addressing a press conference, the minister said he personally visited the site and found that what was being portrayed as 'cracks' were actually pencil markings made by engineers during inspection.
He explained that water ponding tests had been pre-planned as part of the construction quality checks and that minor moisture was detected in two houses, which were later misinterpreted as cracks.
The minister assured that the houses are being constructed under strict technical supervision and that a joint verification will be conducted before handing them over to beneficiaries, followed by a five-year warranty.
