Kerala Orders Probe into Thrissur Fire Tragedy, Offers ₹14 Lakh Compensation

The Kerala government has ordered a judicial commission inquiry into the fire that claimed at least nine lives at a firecracker unit in Thrissur district.

A compensation of ₹14 lakh has been announced for the families of those killed, with ₹4 lakh from the State Disaster Response Fund and ₹10 lakh from the Chief Minister's Disaster Relief Fund.

The injured will receive compensation as per SDRF norms and ₹2 lakh from the CMDRF.

The Kerala government will bear the expenses of medical treatment for those injured for six months.
