West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of 'cherry-picking' officers at the airport to delay her flight. She claimed that her flight was kept waiting on the runway for 30 minutes.

Banerjee also alleged that the BJP had denied permission to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife, MLA Kalpana Soren, to land their helicopter in West Bengal's Jhargram due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's unscheduled visit.

The chief minister further accused the BJP of not giving permission to hold meetings and of causing problems for the people of the district. She also slammed the BJP for placing the military in the state, accusing the party of thinking that 'the people of Bengal are terrorists.'

Banerjee urged the people of Bengal to vote for the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) in the upcoming assembly elections, scheduled for April 23 and April 29. She also criticized PM Modi over his claims of '24 crore jobs', saying that people have lost jobs in reality.

The chief minister also accused PM Modi of misusing Doordarshan for political campaigning and of spreading lies about the Women's Reservation Bill.
