The West Bengal election drama is far from over as Mamata Banerjee, the TMC president, refuses to step down as Chief Minister despite losing the polls.

Accusing the BJP and the Election Commission of 'forcefully capturing' the elections, Mamata claimed their victory was the result of a 'conspiracy' against the people's mandate.

She alleged that her workers were stopped from entering counting centers, beaten by security forces and BJP workers, and that she would take action against the EC.

However, Mamata's refusal to resign may not prevent West Bengal from getting a new CM, as the Governor can dismiss her and invite the BJP to form the government.

Experts weigh in on Mamata's assertion, saying she will have no right to oppose the formation of the new government and that there cannot be two chief ministers in a state.
