Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has joked about Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's work ethic, saying he hasn't taken a day off in 25 years.
Carney made the comment during a seminar in Sydney, Australia, where he praised Modi's dedication to providing for the rural population.
He highlighted the success of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) as a key transformation point in India's payment system, calling it an important achievement of Modi's administration.
Carney also praised Modi's focus on delivering financial reforms and bringing people into the formal economy.
The Canadian PM was on a four-day visit to India earlier this month, where he met with Modi and firmed up agreements on critical minerals and the supply of uranium ore.
