A masked man caused a major security scare at the Delhi legislative assembly complex on Monday afternoon by ramming his vehicle into the premises and leaving a bouquet on the porch.

Within two hours, the masked man and two others were in police custody in connection with the case.

The man behind the wheels, identified as Sarbjit Singh, broke through Gate 2, used for VIPs, and placed a bouquet on the porch near Speaker Vijender Gupta's car before driving away.

The entire security breach incident unfolded within two hours, with the police seizing the vehicle and questioning staff who were present at the gate and inside during the breach.

The suspect, Sarbjit Singh, had been missing from home for five days prior to the incident and travelled to Delhi on Monday without informing his family.

The police are investigating the motive behind the incident and have ruled out any threat after conducting a thorough sweep of the area.
