The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has dismissed reports of a pact between India and the UAE to evacuate Indian nationals via the Fujairah port, stating there is 'no basis in fact' for such a story.

The claim comes amid ongoing tensions in West Asia between the US, Israel, and Iran, which has seen the UAE targeted with missile and drone attacks, disrupting air traffic.

The MEA fact-check unit has asked citizens to stay alert against 'such false and baseless claims'.

A media report had claimed that the 'first of its kind treaty' would see Indians in the UAE evacuated by ship 'in case of a problem with air traffic', indirectly linking the signing of the pact to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's planned stopover in the UAE.

Meanwhile, Iran has rejected the US proposal to end the Iran war via Pakistani mediators, with US President Donald Trump rejecting it as 'TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!'

The fragile ceasefire between the US and Iran was tested when a drone ignited a small fire on a ship off Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait reported drones entering its airspace.
