The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has chosen not to directly respond to US President Donald Trump's 'hellhole' remark for India.
Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said they have 'seen some reports' when asked about Trump's repost on social media.
This comes after Trump posted a transcript from a conservative talk show hosted by Michael Savage, where he referred to India and China as 'some other hellhole on the planet.'
Savage also argued that immigration trends were reshaping American society and criticized the U.S. Constitution as outdated.
Iran came to India's and China's defence, calling them the 'cradles of civilization'.
Trump had previously threatened to decimate Iran's civilization during a war with the country.
In the transcript, Michael Savage also suggested that the immigrant class lacks loyalty to the United States and accused the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of supporting policies that favour undocumented immigrants.
