DMK president MK Stalin has hit back at Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader C Joseph Vijay over his comments on Tamil Nadu's finances. Stalin said funds are available, but what's needed is 'heart and administrative capability' to serve people.

Vijay had accused the previous DMK regime of having 'emptied the state's finances' and leaving a debt of ₹10 lakh crore.

Stalin welcomed Vijay's slew of announcements but asked him not to say the government has no money, saying 'all of that is available'. He claimed the DMK government implemented public welfare schemes despite challenges and accused the BJP of being partial in releasing funds.

Stalin also questioned Vijay's knowledge of the financial status, which was explained in the interim budget presented in February 2026.
