Prime Minister Narendra Modi has predicted that the loss of Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram in 2021 will be repeated in Bhabanipur and the rest of West Bengal in the upcoming elections.

Modi made the statement at a rally in East Midnapore, where he also accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government of failing to make West Bengal self-reliant in fish production.

Banerjee, who is the TMC chief minister, has been attacking the BJP over the deletion of nine million voters from the electoral roll and has accused the party of targeting Bengal.

Both Modi and Banerjee have been using the issue of fish as a major election plank, with Modi promising that a BJP government would make Bengal self-reliant in fish production and Banerjee claiming that her government has achieved significant increases in fish production.
