Prime Minister Narendra Modi has outlined a comprehensive nine-point programme to promote water conservation, environmental protection, agriculture, public health, and economic self-reliance during his visit to Karnataka's Mandya.
Modi framed the initiative as part of a broader vision of development rooted in social responsibility and traditional values, drawing inspiration from the principles followed by Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math.
The nine-point agenda includes water conservation, environmental protection, sanitation, economic self-reliance, domestic tourism, sustainable agriculture, nutrition and lifestyle changes, and social service.
Modi emphasized the importance of local participation in environmental protection, urging citizens to plant trees under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign.
He also stressed the need for uniform standards in sanitation, accountability on citizens rather than institutions, and the adoption of Indian products to strengthen local manufacturers.
Modi encouraged domestic tourism, sustainable farming methods, and dietary changes to address rising health concerns, particularly obesity.
He concluded by emphasizing the importance of social service and community engagement, aligning the message with the service-oriented ethos of the Adichunchanagiri institution.
