New Delhi: At least six schools across the national Capital, including four in central Delhi, received a bomb threat email on Monday morning, prompting the authorities to launch their evacuation and anti-sabotage checking operations, police officers aware of the matter said.The four schools in the central Delhi district, including Sanskriti School, The British School, and Navy Children School, that are in the Chanakyapuri area, received the bomb threat email around 9:30am. The administration of the schools informed the police and fire control room about the matter and initiated the safety and security protocols, said a senior police officer aware of the matter, asking not to be identified.A Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official said the fire control room received three calls regarding the bomb threat email. The first call was received at about 9:40am about a bomb threat at The Mother’s International School in Hauz Khas, the second and third calls at 10:35am and 10:45am regarding similar threat emails at Navy Children School in Chanakyapuri and Bal Bharti School in Rohini, the official said.“We sent fire tenders along with firemen to carry out the necessary actions,” the official said.According to the senior officer cited above, multiple police teams reached the school along with members of the bomb detection and disposal squad, sniffer dogs and other concerned agencies.“The evacuation process has been carried out, and anti-sabotage checks are going on. As of now, nothing suspicious has been found. It may turn out to be a hoax bomb threat email,” the officer added.
