A man in Mumbai has been arrested for allegedly plotting the murder of his wife, Geeta Chaudhary, after failing in two previous attempts.

The case came to light a year and a half after Geeta's death, initially treated as a suicide, was reinvestigated following a family member's complaint.

Police found that Sakaram had tried to kill Geeta twice before, once by staging a road accident and the second time through physical assault.

After these failures, Sakaram enlisted the help of three friends, Shankar Dangi, Babu, and Dinesh Gayri, to carry out the murder for ₹6.7 lakh.

The four accused have been arrested, with Sakaram admitting to the crime during questioning.

He revealed that he had been involved in an affair with a woman named Dimple Chaudhary and wanted to live with her, with Geeta becoming an obstacle to this.
