A self-proclaimed godman in Nashik has been accused of rape and threatening a woman with 'divine power'.
The 28-year-old woman, a security guard, was taken to the godman by her parents due to family issues and her mental health condition.
The accused, Maheshgiri alias Mahesh Dilip Kakde, allegedly told the family that the woman was possessed by a spirit and promised to 'treat' her.
However, he exploited her on the pretext of rituals, sending her obscene messages and coercing her into sex.
Kakde also allegedly took nude photographs of her and threatened her whenever she confronted him.
A case has been registered against him under the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013.
