New Delhi, Admiral Krishna Swaminathan has taken charge as India's new chief of the Naval Staff, prioritizing peak operational readiness in a challenging regional security environment.

The new Navy chief described the regional security environment as 'challenging, complex, and unpredictable' and vowed to maintain the highest level of operational readiness and combat effectiveness.

Admiral Swaminathan emphasized the Indian Navy's commitment to jointness, 'Atmanirbharata', and indigenisation, praising his predecessor Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi as one of the 'finest' military professionals globally.

The Admiral has a distinguished naval career spanning over three decades, holding key operational, staff, and training appointments, including command of several warships and serving as Vice Chief of the Naval Staff.
